Preparations for Sharjah Ramadan Festival begins
The organizing committee of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival has chalked out a broad work plan in preparation for the 16th Sharjah Ramadan Festival which will start from Oct.4.
Mohammed Ahmed Amin, the general co-ordinator of Sharjah Shopping Festival, said, based upon the instructions of Sheikh Abdallah Bin Salem Al Qassimi, chief of Sharjah Amiri Court and chairman of the Higher Committee of the festival, work groups and 13 sub-committees will start making preparations for the festival during the forthcoming period under the supervision of Higher Organising Committee.
The event is organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Industry and Commerce in collaboration with related federal ministries, establishments and government departments.
The 40 day-festival will feature different events held across the emirate.
Amin said that each sub-committee has been directed to device a mechanism to fulfill its duties without any delay as the festival committee has provided them with technical and financial support in line with the estimated budget set for this purpose.
The participation sub-committee will start registrations in the second week of August.
All shops, malls, commercial markets and showrooms are being co-ordinated to take part in the festival’s marketing campaign, Amin said.
The candidate must be a member of the chamber and fulfill the conditions set by festival organisers. "We have set conditions that suit the majority in order to encourage them to participate in the activities and events of the festival," he said.
Considered as a vital step, specialised committees such as media and events have started earlier distributing questionnaire among representatives of shopping malls and sponsors in order to monitor their views and suggestions on developing and promoting the festival.
Brochures, posters and invitations are also prepared to be distributed later as part of the advertising campaign.
