SEWA Updates SEC On Steps Taken To Handle Power Shortage
The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) on Tuesday updated the Sharjah Executive Council on measures it has taken to handle
the power crisis in some parts of
the emirate.
SEWA told the council, which was chaired by Shaikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of
the Executive Council, that these
steps were adequate to bring the situation to normal.
“These measures have been instrumental in overcoming the crisis. SEWA said, noting that such technical faults are common at this time of the year
due to steep rise in temperature and unprecedented increase in consumption of electricity.”
SEWA affirmed that it would strive to ensure easy flow of power current to consumers who were urged to rationalise their consumption so as to ease the overloading and pressure on the energy network
