DUBAI The Sharjah tourism sector seeks five per cent growth this year after receiving more tourists in first half due to diversity of tourist attractions and special offerings at the hotel establishments in the emirate, a report said.

Just a day after utilities operator Sewa Sewa apologised for leaving residents without power in Sharjah, electricity was cut again to several industrial and residential areas.According to a report in UAE daily newspaper The National, industrial areas 2, 6 and 12 were left without power from 11am to 2pm, and residential areas including Abu Shagara were without electricity for an hour.
