Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 5 Days. Here is What To Do

Dubai and Abu Dhabi have grown over the last few years to become little gems of the Middle East and a great source of pride for the region. It has attracted the attention of not just the big business magnates, but also ordinary people who desire to experience a difference in culture. Though the area is famed for its oil and gold, as well as the magnificent business opportunities it has for anyone willing to do the work, it is also a tourist hub, with lots of attractions and a rich history of the Eastern part of the world.

The developments are incredible and the architecture is so futuristic that if you were told the area was a complete desolate desert less than a century ago, you will find it hard to believe. If you are a visitor coming to Dubai for the first time, you can rest assured that it won’t be your last time, since the maximum one month allowed for visitors will never be enough. But suppose you will be around for just fourdays, you will be at a loss for what to do and see since there are just lots of incredible things you can engage in. Nonetheless, here is a sample 4-day Dubai – Abu Dhabi tour beginning with the first day you land in the country.

Day 1: The Dubai Marina - On the very first day, you will probably be tired from the travel and so it will not be appropriate to hit the road hard on this day. However, a nice place to start the tour is The Dubai Marina. This is a magnificent establishment with lots of hotels, restaurants and shopping malls that will give you a good introduction of what to expect for the remaining days of your visit. Since you are tired from the flights, it is a nice place to just sit down and relax, have some meals and enjoy the magnificent sceneries that surround you. When you are done, head back to your hotel for a good night’s rest to get the energy for the next day.

Day 2: Burj Al Arab - Waking up in Dubai for the first time is an indescribable experience. You get out of bed and you are greeted with spectacular views from your hotel room, with the clean air and the clear sky lifting your spirits and making you look forward to a day full of fun. After you have had your breakfast, start off the day by hopping onto a bus headed for the old town. Being in Old Town Dubai will reveal to you the contrast between the super modern city you see today and what it used to be not so long ago. It is also a great chance to visit the gold souks where you will find great bargains on gold in the United Arabs Emirates. The people you find in the Old Town Dubai are super friendly and will be delighted to tell you the history of the area so that you can appreciate the strides already made to make Dubai what it is today. The other places you shouldn’t miss when you are still in the Old Town include the creek, the Dubai Museum, the dhow boats and the fishing areas.
Your next stop for the day should be at the BurJ Al Arab which is one of the iconic attractions, featuring a 7–star hotel built on a man-made private island in Dubai. For you to visit the hotel, you must either be a guest or if you have a reservation at one of the restaurants. For your case, the latter should suffice, and it will be an experience to remember. The thing you must endeavor to do at this hotel is to take the 7-course high tea. Before you wonder why this is recommended and if there is anything special about the tea, just know that you will be taking the tea on the top floor of the hotel. There is no better place to have a panoramic view of the entire city than when taking the high tea at Burj Al Arab.

Day 3: Brunch at Atlantis Resort - A visit to Dubai will never be complete without sampling some of their delicacies, and there is no better opportunity than going for a brunch, especially if it is on a Friday. At the Atlantis Resort, find your way to Saffron Restaurant for the all you can eat and drink brunch. The Atlantis is also a huge establishment and is also full of visitors and tourists so you may want to be a bit creative in locating the restaurant. The ambiance is great, with perfect setting and lighting and a DJ playing very cool music to entertain the guests.

The moment you step into the hotel, you will be greeted with a drink after which you can then head over to the several buffet tables with different types of cuisines and drinks. Deserts tables are also in plenty, and you can literally take five hours just eating and drinking and never manage to sample everything. The maximum amount of time that you are allowed, however, is just two hours. The experience in this restaurant alone is worth all the trouble of renewing my passport just to come to Dubai.

Day 4: Day trip to Abu Dhabi - You should wind off your short Dubai visit by a day trip to Abu Dhabi. It is not so far from Dubai and it also has lots of attractions you will be delighted to see. Your first stop should be at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The unique thing about this mosque is that it is the largest mosque in the entire United Arab Emirates. The design is stunning, with well-manicured lawns and clean pools. If you love photography, then you will find lots of exciting places to take the perfect shots at this ground. The architecture is also something to marvel at.

Then there is also the man-made Yas Island which is also another top attraction in Abu Dhabi. In this place, you will find the Ferrari World, Yas Marina Circuit, and the Yas Water World. There are also a lot of luxurious hotels, restaurants and shopping malls to take care of all your shopping needs. The Heritage Village is the place for you to have lunch while in Dubai where you are not just guaranteed of great foods, but also you will enjoy magnificent views of the Abu Dhabi skyline.
In the afternoon, spend a few minutes at the Emirates Palace Hotel and marvel at the classic elegance, featuring flashy décor that the hotel exudes. After the hotel, you can spend the rest of the afternoon at the fishing market, the dating market and the indoor markets before embarking on the trip back to Dubai.
Indeed, four days is not enough to get the most of Dubai. It won’t allow you to go and enjoy the beaches, the desert safaris. However, if that’s is what you got after hassling for renewing my passport, then this itinerary should be sufficient to give you a glimpse of what Dubai has to offer.
