Sharjah Media Centre To Host First ’Majlis’ For Holy Month Of Ramadan

Sharjah Media Centre, the official media entity of the Government of Sharjah functioning under the umbrella of Sharjah Media Corporation,is set to host itsinaugural Ramadan Majlis under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation. His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi said: "The Holy Month of Ramadan calls for heightenedreligious sentiment and solidarityacross the community, which together elevate human beings. The Sharjah Media Centre Ramadan Majlisaims to enhance media and social communication.” His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi pointed out that SharjahMedia Centre aims tofocus on topics that reflect the spirit of the Holy Month. Additionally,the Majlis,will hostinfluential clerics andthought leaders, as well as media representativeswhowill highlight issues that carry a cultural, scientificand humanitarian significance for the UAE. The event will also look into health, environment and mediatopics, besides examining the scope of voluntary work in Sharjah andcompare the status of Muslim communities in the UAE and Europe. The first Sharjah Media Centre Ramadan Majlis willspotlight the interaction of His Highness Sheikh Dr.Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, with the people of Sharjah through Direct Line, a live radio show that is simultaneouslybroadcastedon Sharjah TV. Moderated by HasanYacob and coordinated by Faisal Abdul-Hadi, the session will feature Ahmed Salem Bosamnoh, Board Member, Sharjah Media Corporation, Jamal Al Bah, Chairman, Arab Family Organization, Mohammed Khalaf, Director, Sharjah Radio, and Dr.JasimKhalfan, a National Activist. As part of his priority to addressing humanitarian concerns, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimiis equally interested in following theradio and TV programmes broadcasted by other channels that tackle community problems, as thiswill motivate media institutions to stay on top of their research activities and identify topics for discussion thatspotlightsocietal concerns.” The participants will examine the experiences of individuals who have interacted with His Highness,the Ruler of Sharjah. Presenters of the show willalso sharetheir experience in communicating with His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi. In addition to highlighting the outcomes of the initiative, the segment will seek to evaluate theirimpact onthe lives of callers to the radio programme.
