The Science Day event features scientific educational programmes for school students, fun-filled and educational shows, as well as a number of displays that raise awareness about the various uses of science in all aspects of modern day life. Several organizations have supported and contributed to the event such as Sharjah Police General Directorate, Dubai Police, Air Arabia, the General Civil Aviation Authority, and Hobby Centre.
The weekend’s programme will also include a number of special events such as shows about the magic of science, Planetarium laser shows, and various scientific workshops about the chocolate plant, perfume making, and aviation. SMD thanked all the different organisations involved and praised their constructive and fruitful cooperation, which will in turn, encourage and stimulate future generations to enjoy science and contribute to their community through innovation. Sharjah Science Museum was opened in 1996 as an interactive learning centre. It is the only interactive hands-on museum in the UAE that was designed specifically for children to help them understand and interact with the world around them, so as to acquire science and knowledge within an interactive and exciting learning environment and further explore how science and technology are part of their daily lives. |
