Over 2 million commuters used Sharjah mass transport modes in the first half of the year, Sharjah Public Transport Corporation has revealed.

Rahma Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General of the Corporation, said with 2,744,000 passengers riding public transport in the first half of the year, the public transport performance index is doing well compared with previous years.

’’With the completion of future expansion projects, More passengers are expected to use mass transport,’’ he added.

Sharjah Public Transport Corporation is reinforcing the role of public transportation, developing and controlling transportation policies all over the Emirate of Sharjah, providing modern and highly professional level of services to all passengers, in order to find strategic solutions for traffic situations in the Emirate.
