Ruler Of Sharjah Orders Pension Increase For Retired Public Sector Employees In Sharjah

Congratulates UAE Leadership On 40th National Day And Declares "Union Is Our Sole Destiny"


 

 His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al-Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah,led a radio address to congratulate the UAE on its 40thNational Day and reassure the public on his health condition.

n his opening remarks, he expressed his gratitudeto the UAE President His Highness Sheikh KhalifaBin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as well as the other Rulers and Crown Princesfor enquiring about his well-being.

He also thanked all citizenswho expressed their concern for him through letters and poems that“radiated with the spirit of love”.

Articulating his desire to join the people of the UAE on the milestone event of the Union’s formation four decades ago –“when the hands and thoughts of the UAE Rulers met to unify their paths into a singular forcethathas grown from strength to strength over the past40 years” - His Highness said: “The others look upon us with awe due to the affinity we boast between the leaders and the ones who are led. Disagreement is only natural to occur, but the kind of disagreement which ascertains the importance of intellectualism and the greatness of law is what fuels this countrywith rational power thatis far from imprudence.”

He added: “The Union is our destiny and nothing else. We have always promptly responded to all mandates from the leadership, represented by the UAE President, the Cabinet or even on an emirate-specific level.”

Taking the opportunity to address the youth, His Highness advised the generationto take things step by step, at a timewhen the country is moving forward on a logical course guided by thefar-sighted agendaset by the Rulers. He also called upon the educated youth to be aware of what is beneficial to thecountry and face any negative forces that aim to“createa hole in theship” with resilience.

Describing the benevolenceof the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyanto raise the salaries of federal civil servants, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah said the magnanimous gesture is an expression of care towards the citizens of the UAE for improvingtheir living standards. He particularly commended the decision of granting Emirati citizenship to the children of Emirati women married to non-Emirati men.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al-Qassimisubsequently pointed out two groups of people that need to be included in the bestowal: retired people as well as the underprivileged.

On his part, he directed His Excellency Tarek Bin Khadem, Head of Human Resources, to accelerate the process of research with the Special Salaries Commission in Sharjah to increase the allowances of retired nationals.
With regards to the second group, he elaborated thatin addition to the Union’s expenditure on poor citizens, Sharjah investsAED120 million on its own merit and will be giving an increased allowance to thisgroup inthe same ratio.

During his interaction on the programme that specializes in responding to people’s complaints, he asked the radio team for patience when receiving grievances. He also asked the officials in Sharjah’s governmental departments to addresscitizens’ concerns and sustain its ongoing communication with the media.

With regards to health, he assured everyone that he is in a stable condition and will be home in a few days.
