About The Museum

Sharjah Heritage Museum first opened its doors in 2005 in the Heritage Area. It was renovated and re-opened in 2012 in Bait Saeed Al Taweel Al Shamsi in the Heart of Sharjah.

Why you should visit Sharjah ‎Heritage ‎Museum

The museum is dedicated to highlighting Sharjah’s authentic heritage and the rich culture of Emirati people and Sharjah residents over the past decades. It, also, emphasizes the value of the deep rooted Arabic customs and traditions which are a legacy from our ancestors and a source of pride and joy to the coming generations.

Explore a life full of ‎authenticity and ‎generosity

This museum provides its visitors with a broad idea of the diverse environments, which our ancestors experienced and lived in, starting from the marine and coastal environments to the mountainous and agricultural ones. These environments reflect their lifestyle, habits and crafts. The Museum also highlights the authentic Arab traditions including the warm hospitality, celebrations, marriage ceremonies, sciences and livelihoods. In addition to this, it presents folk tales, proverbs and puzzles to entertain children and help them learn in an insightful and interesting atmosphere.
